Sources & privacy

Arabic text uses the quran-uthmani edition from Al Quran Cloud. The available English translations are Sahih International and Marmaduke Pickthall. Translations are interpretations of the meanings.

Qur’an text is included with this website and opened chapters are cached on this device when browser storage is available. Use Save Qur’an for offline reading to keep all 114 surahs. The website interface and classical prayer texts can also be available offline after the app has finished preparing. Recitations stream from Islamic Network’s audio service; the next verse is prefetched during playback when data-saving mode is off. Audio playback still requires an internet connection.

Book PDFs are hosted on El Mokdad and open or download directly from this website. Sayyed Fadlallah’s official editions are shared unchanged for responsible noncommercial reading under Bayynat’s terms. Nahj al-Balagha is the complete Arabic-English edition edited and translated by Tahera Qutbuddin, published by Brill in 2024, under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0. Original attribution, copyright and licence pages remain inside every file.

Classical Arabic prayers include source credits from Bayynat, Duas.org, Islam4u, Ḥaqibat al-Mu’min and Rafed. The Mafatih scan is from Princeton University through Arabic Collections Online. Daily sayings use the Arabic wisdom section of Nahj al-Balagha, with numbered references checked against Thaqalayn. Weekday prayers follow Mafatih al-Jinan; today is selected using your device’s local date. Prayer audio streams from Bayynat, Duas.org or Haqibat al-Mu’min of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine. Optional YouTube players load inside the prayer page only after you press Play. Recordings need an internet connection and may use a different edition or include an introduction.

Bookmarks, saved books and prayers, your reading place, and appearance settings are stored only in your browser. Book page positions, page bookmarks and daily-guide checkmarks also stay on this device. Search runs in your browser; this site does not submit search terms to a third-party search service. Share cards are created on your device and are only shared when you choose to share them. Offline copies are saved using this browser’s cache storage and can be removed through its website-data settings. This site adds no analytics or advertising. Playing audio or opening source links shares normal connection information with the relevant provider. The hosting provider may keep standard access logs. Clearing browser data removes your saved preferences and verses.

Shared readings: Group names, optional dedications and dates, participant display names, and part statuses are saved on this website’s Namecheap hosting. Anyone with a group link can view that reading and take an available part. Use first names or nicknames and avoid private information. There is no public group directory. The memorial page links to one public reading dedicated to Al Hajja Moutiaa Ali El Mokdad; anyone visiting the website can open it. A private recovery code restores your own assignments or organizer controls on another device; share the group link, not the recovery code. Closing a group stops changes and is reversible. This browser stores your group links and recovery keys; clearing browser data removes those keys unless you kept a recovery code. Short-lived hashed network identifiers limit abuse, and hosting may retain normal access logs.
